CHamorus and friends of the Marianas will be gathering in Oklahoma and Virginia Beach this weekend for the final Guam Liberation celebrations of the year!
Sept. 13: Chocktaw, Oklahoma
Bring a potluck dish and the family for an afternoon of CHamoru cultural celebration from 11 am-6 pm at the large pavilion at Choctaw Creek Park (2001 Harper St.) just outside of Oklahoma City. Sept. 13: Virginia Beach, Virginia
Virginia Beach’s Guam Liberation Celebration, which will take place at Redwing Park (1398 General Booth Blvd.) in Virginia Beach, will include a potluck style fiesta, live entertainment and dancing, games, raffles, vendors and more. Visitor set up starts at 9:30 am, the table opens at noon, and the event ends at 5 pm. If you’re donating meat, please bring it to the barbecue no later than 9 am. All pets must be leashed.
